Travel Physician Assistant (PA) – Orthopedic Surgery | 13-Week Contract | Up to $6,000/Week | Mammoth Lakes, CA
Pay: Up to $6,000 per week (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time
Connected Health Care, a premier healthcare recruitment and staffing firm, is partnering with a leading healthcare facility in Mammoth Lakes, California to hire an experienced Travel Physician Assistant (PA) – Orthopedic Surgery. This exciting 13-week travel assignment offers the opportunity to work alongside a skilled orthopedic surgery team while earning up to $6,000 per week based on experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures as a First Assist
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic patients in clinic and hospital settings
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care
  • Order and interpret imaging studies, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures
  • Apply splints, braces, casts, and other orthopedic devices
  • Perform joint injections, wound care, and minor orthopedic procedures within scope of practice
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Deliver exceptional patient-centered orthopedic care
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current California Physician Assistant License (Required)
  • Active DEA License (Required)
  • Current BLS Certification (Required)
  • NCCPA Certification
  • Minimum of one year of Physician Assistant experience
  • Three (3) years of Orthopedic Surgery experience is highly preferred
  • Previous First Assist experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills
