Position Summary

we are seeking a Credentials Coordinator who plays a vital role in ensuring providers are credentialed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the credentialing lifecycle while partnering with physicians, allied health professionals, and hospital leadership to support quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage provider credentialing from initial appointment through reappointment

  • Complete primary source verification and maintain accurate credential files

  • Coordinate provider privileging and focused professional practice evaluations (FPPE)

  • Support provider onboarding, including system access, orientation, and badge coordination

  • Maintain the Medical Staff database with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission, CMS, and regulatory standards

  • Handle confidential medical staff information with professionalism and discretion

  • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and internal departments throughout the credentialing process

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Medical Staff Credentialing experience

Current CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) OR CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) certification

Strong understanding of:

  • Medical Staff credentialing processes

  • Primary source verification

  • Privileging

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Medical Staff databases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous hospital Medical Staff Office experience

  • Experience with credentialing software and provider databases
