Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Onsite | Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday); holiday coverage may be required

Key Responsibilities

  • Float across multiple Critical Care Units including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, and Oncology ICU based on facility needs
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill adults including trauma, surgical, neurological, cardiac, oncology, and medically complex patientsCare for patients requiring management of DKA, ETOH withdrawal, chemo induction, and other conditions requiring an elevated level of care
  • Monitor and assess patients following cardiac procedures, open-heart surgery, and other high-acuity interventions
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical findings using electronic health record systems
  • Adapt to varying unit assignments and patient populations as directed by facility staffing needs

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license valid in Virginia or a valid compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submittal)
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience, with specialty experience within the last year
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • EPIC electronic health record experience
  • Completed NIH and stroke education
  • One supervisory professional reference required at time of submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience across multiple ICU subspecialties (surgical, medical, cardiac, or oncology critical care)
  • Flexibility with scheduling, including weekend and holiday availability
  • Ability to float to various units based on census and staffing needs
