Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring multi-unit ICU experience and Trauma Level I background.

Details

  • >Work as a float RN across multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery
  • Care for IMC/Progressive and general care patient populations
  • Day/evening shifts, 8/12 hours, 0700-1930
  • Every other weekend and some holidays required
  • Required to float as needed across units
  • Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty applied to
  • 5 years of experience preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
  • Academic Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Prior travel nurse experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
  • Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including neuro, cardiovascular, burn, and trauma units
  • Work within a Magnet-designated, academic Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Two attempts allowed to pass the telemetry exam; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
  • Assignment will be cancelled if telemetry exam is not passed within three attempts
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • First-time travelers are not eligible due to travel experience requirement
