Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care position in a comprehensive stroke center ICU, requiring Epic experience and advanced skills in CRRT, CABG, stroke, and TNK management.
Details
- 30-bed ICU combining Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, and Medical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
- 13-week assignment with a night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- If a sick call occurs on a scheduled weekend (Friday 7p-Monday 7am), the associate must work the following weekend as well
- Floating is an expectation of this contract if ICU census is low
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP) required, completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, CDC resource, or similar
- Required Epic EMR experience
- Experience assisting with bedside procedures including intubation/extubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, TEEs, and cardioversions
- Experience managing patients on ventilators, BiPAP/AVAPS, and other oxygen delivery methods, as well as multiple vasoactive medications
- Experience caring for patients undergoing general surgical, stroke/neuro (craniectomy, hemicraniectomy, spinal surgery), cath lab, and interventional radiology procedures
- Experience managing sepsis, GI bleed, COPD, CHF, and DKA patients
- Ability to interpret invasive hemodynamic values (CO/CI/SVV/CVP/SvO2)
- Preferred: open heart surgery experience (CABG, valve surgeries, AAA)
- Preferred: comprehensive stroke experience (EVD, thrombectomy, TNK)
- Preferred: experience managing patients on assist devices such as IABP, Impella, and CRRT (Prisma)
- Preferred: experience with prone positioning and initiation/maintenance of paralytics with TOF/BIS monitoring
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across neuro, surgical, and medical ICU patient populations in a comprehensive stroke center
- No RTO permitted during holidays
- Assignment includes coverage for high-acuity procedures and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
