Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Critical Care – Chicago, IL 60631
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. If sick call occurs on a weekend Friday 7:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM, the following weekend is required. 12-hour orientation provided. This is a 90-day travel assignment ending November 29, 2026.

- 30-bed intensive care unit serving medical, neurological, and surgical critical care patients at a comprehensive stroke center
- Advanced critical care experience with complex patient populations including stroke, neuro procedures, cardiac interventions, and sepsis management
- Exposure to cutting-edge technology including CRRT (Prisma), assist devices (IABP, Impella), and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Opportunity to work with patients undergoing general surgical, neuro surgical, cath lab, and interventional radiology procedures
- Three positions available for experienced critical care nurses seeking a challenging travel assignment
Requirements:
- Current RN license with Critical Care specialty certification
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Knowledge and experience with CRRT, CABG, stroke protocols, and TNK administration
- Proficiency in assisting with bedside procedures: intubation/extubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, TEEs, and cardioversions
- Experience managing ventilators, BiPAP/AVAPS, oxygen delivery methods, and patients on multiple vasoactive medications
- Ability to interpret invasive hemodynamic values (CO/CI/SVV/CVP/SvO2)
- Experience with general surgical, stroke/neuro procedures (craniectomy, hemicraniectomy, spinal surgeries), cath lab interventions, and managing sepsis, GI bleed, COPD, CHF, and DKA patients
- Willingness to float to other units if ICU census is low
- Preferred: Open heart experience (CABG, valve surgeries, AAA), comprehensive stroke experience (EVD, thrombectomy, TNK), assist device management (IABP, Impella, CRRT), prone positioning, and paralytic management (TOF/BIS monitoring)
