Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: MSB Duration: 9 months Shift: Varied Hours per Shift: 22.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in CT License: Client License (L.R.T) Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification Must-Have: RADIOLOGY Description: Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it is calibrated and functioning properly before any patient study is performed. Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol. Observes all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs and manuals, as well as reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principles. Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after their visits in the Radiology department.
