Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required in relevant field License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible Certifications: Requires advanced certification in CT. Must-Have: - Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science. - Must provide a copy of diploma from accredited program for registry-eligible candidates. - Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually. - All imaging specialists are required to maintain current competency in HCP BLS. Description: Conduct procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Verify patient identification and obtain patient history. Assist patients and family members that require extra attention. Ensure patient understanding whenever possible and maintain patient safety. Document pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age. Obtain images following protocols and manipulate images as required. Perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms. Select appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy. Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients. Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe procedures. Check appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol. Maintain understanding of PACS and transmit images accordingly. Verify and segment images at the QC station. Access service tools to verify image transmission. Complete, modify, and/or cancel orders in a timely manner. Cancel duplicate orders to avoid billing issues. Ensure that all charge information is accurate. Verify patient identification in accordance with policy. Ensure that all appropriate demographic information is accurate. Perform tasks in a timely manner and manage the schedule effectively. Produce quality diagnostic images. Review patient's chart and reports for correlation. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Document incidents as improvement opportunities for employees and the department. Precept new employees and students. Volunteer to work on challenging tasks and difficult procedures.
