Job Title: CT Technologist
Profession: CT Tech

Hours per Shift: 12 hours (Mon/Tues/Wed 11am-11:30pm)
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology; Less than 1 year experience in CT preferred
License: ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography, ARRT-CT - ARRT Computed Tomography, BLS - Basic Life Support
Certifications: All certifications required upon hire

Competent in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection.
Description:

Assist with providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients.
Perform all exams according to department procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to obtain quality diagnostic studies safely.
Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures.
Utilize independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in utilizing equipment for diagnosis and treatment.
Set up equipment and position patients for procedures.
Verify proper clinician orders for procedures.
Obtain complete clinical histories and assess for contraindications.
Follow established procedures for the administration of contrast media.
Ensure proper patient identification and use of markers.
Review CT/radiographic images for clinical acceptability.
Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary support.
Observe patient conditions and evaluate situations for physician intervention.
Verify patient identity using two unique identifiers.
Ensure patient privacy and comfort throughout the exam.
Demonstrate competence in procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age.
Organize schedules and priorities to accomplish activities within designated time frames.
Follow physician instructions during procedures and exams.
Demonstrate proficiency with loading and operating power injection.
Utilize critical thinking skills and ask clarifying questions when needed.
Maintain understanding of pre-and post-procedural care.
Demonstrate and understand sterile technique.
Maintain competency with venipuncture.
Adjust techniques to minimize radiation exposure while maintaining image quality.
Report problems regarding malfunctioning equipment.
Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to infection control policies.
Explain the purpose and nature of exams to patients, minimizing anxiety.
Address patient questions and concerns satisfactorily.
Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees.
Provide patients with preparatory instructions and explanations of procedures.
Maintain concise, legible documentation with precise terminology.
Monitor equipment operational status and ensure proper calibration.
Complete studies and documentation within required systems.
Restock linens and supplies, maintaining a clean department.
Transport patients and assist them on and off procedure tables.
Perform patient charging activities on the service day.
Apply shielding and immobilization devices as needed.
Support colleagues upon request and help maintain departmental efficiency.
Communicate ongoing responsibilities to supervision.
Maintain productivity equal to that of coworkers.
Demonstrate ability to operate all workstations in the department.
Adhere to regulatory agency standards in all tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
