Description

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Must have state license in hand at the time of start Certifications: BLS, ARRT (CT), SCRQSA (CT) Must-Have: National certifications are required. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT. American Heart Association BLS certification is also required. Description: The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) reports to the manager of CT and the director of radiology. Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs high-quality CT examinations. CT examinations are conducted in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from newborns through geriatrics. The examinations are for interpretation by a physician. Work schedule will be Friday through Sunday, consisting of three 12-hour shifts. The shift hours are from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Participation in an on-call rotation among staff members is required from Monday to Thursday. On-call hours are from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The technologist will be called in if someone calls out for their shift or if there is an influx of trauma cases. Call duty is not expected every week, but approximately every 4-5 weeks. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The role involves performing inpatient and outpatient procedures, emergency, and scheduled interventional cases. Required skills include the ability to start IVs, administer contrast, perform biopsies, and use the PACS system. A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency, as the facility does not supply one. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. This could affect the traveler's assignment during that season. All required licenses and certifications must be valid and active prior to starting the position.
