Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: MSBI Duration: 9 months Shift: Saturday & Sunday Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience License: Client License (L.R.T) Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification Must-Have: - CT procedures - kV techniques - mA techniques - Quality control calibration - Injecting radioactive material Description: Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure the equipment is calibrated and functioning properly before any patient study. Injects patients with radioactive material per physician's order following the prescribed protocol. Observes all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, charge documents, and reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt according to policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
