Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 15 Weeks Shift: 7p-7a Midnights and 7a-7p Days, every other weekend Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible. Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors. Description: Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination. Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs the appropriate examination. Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies. Analyzes the anatomical structure of the patient, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan. Manually controls the equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied. Administers intravenous contrast media, including utilization of power injectors. Monitors patients for possible reactions and provides immediate care if a reaction should occur. May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies. Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating principles of radiation protection. Resolves any image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery. Completes all study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS). Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with the Radiologist before performing studies. Demonstrates consistent teamwork and communication standards. Performs all documentation in the medical record and supports clinical and billing functions as necessary. May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit. May be exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized. Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients that exceed 10 lbs. Must possess personal qualities including being self-directed, flexible, and committed to teamwork.
