Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: CT Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in a hospital setting preferred License: Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification Certifications: Registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R) (CT) required Must-Have: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire Description: We are dedicated to providing healthcare services to the community we serve. Schedule: 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM, Friday-Sunday, with on-call every Thursday night and every 8 weekends. Technical factors, such as automatic exposure control, are used appropriately. Technical factors (kvp, ma, time, and distance) are accurately utilized. Appropriate cassettes (regular, grid) and collimation are employed, while assistance is given to the attending physician during exams. Appropriate body parts are imaged and identified, views are acquired, and immobilization is employed. Radiologist protocols are followed, and good sterile techniques are practiced. Computed Tomography Exams are performed with and without power contrast injections. Archiving is done appropriately with the PACS. The angle mechanism is used appropriately, and table height is adjusted as necessary. Positioning is appropriate for the exam, ensuring patient handling is safe. Patients are transported, transferred, and positioned safely. Preparation for patients and exams is confirmed, with evaluations of patients’ mental and physical conditions. Accurate patient and image documentation is conducted in the HIS/RIS and PACS systems. SBAR is performed as required, and AIDET is utilized. Patient needs are monitored effectively, and necessary paperwork and archiving are completed. Contrast media is administered when appropriate, and proficiency in starting IVs is expected. May be required to be on-call standby as needed by the department. Handles confidential information following HIPAA regulations. Ability to adjust technical settings and physical parameters of specialized equipment. Acts as a mentor to students from affiliated Radiology Technology Programs. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars and workshops. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and safety policies. Compliance with organization policies, labor agreements, and safe work practices is required. Interfaces with team members and support groups courteously and efficiently. Conducts self professionally and ensures personal appearance meets organizational standards. Additional accountabilities may be required to meet organizational standards. Physical requirements include occasional heavy lifting (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.), frequent/prolonged standing/walking, lifting, positioning, pushing, and transferring patients. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with various stakeholders. Demonstrates competency on equipment and seeks resources for direction when necessary. Performs independent problem-solving and makes logical and deliberate decisions. Practices within legal and ethical guidelines. Demonstrates competency in the ability to care for patients across the age continuum.
