Job Title: Radiologic Technologist – Computed Tomography Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 13-week contract Shift: 3x12s Hours per Shift: 6pm-6am Experience: Previous general radiography experience required License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Certifications: ARRT CT Certification required, BLS Must-Have: Ability to operate CT equipment Description: Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patients for the examination. Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary. Prepares procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies. Analyzes anatomical structure of patient, sets up equipment and performs the CT scan. Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied. Administers intravenous contrast media including utilization of power injectors. Monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care to patients if a reaction should occur. May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies. Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection. Involves shielding of patients, selection of appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose, using other ALARA techniques, etc. Resolves any and all image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into PACS. Includes viewing of images into PACS and confirming image/series counts. Completes all study indexing as required. Reviews and confirms as necessary clinical protocols before performing the study. Demonstrates consistent team member standards of excellence. Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary to support all clinical and billing functions. May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit. May be exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized. May be exposed to potentially contagious patients. Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients that may exceed 10 lbs. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities and standards. Demonstrates customer service values.
