Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols
• Prepare patients for CT examinations by reviewing medical history, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort
• Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images
• Administer contrast media safely while monitoring patients for adverse reactions
• Operate CT scanners and imaging equipment while maintaining image quality standards
• Evaluate completed images for diagnostic quality before submission for radiologist interpretation
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS
• Follow radiation safety standards, infection prevention guidelines, and departmental policies
• Perform routine equipment quality control and report maintenance concerns as needed
• Provide compassionate care during both routine and emergency imaging procedures

Requirements

• Active Michigan Radiologic Technologist License (if required by state regulations)
• ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) required
• ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred or required by the facility
• Minimum 2 years of recent CT Technologist experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• Experience performing a broad range of CT procedures in an acute care hospital
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, contrast administration, and radiation safety
• Experience using PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
• Ability to work efficiently during evening shifts in a fast-paced imaging department
