Job Description

Job Title: CT Technologist I Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Level 1 trauma experience required License: ARRT CT Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: ARRT CT certification and BLS Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, the individual provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Care settings may include acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Identifies and implements actions necessary to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations. Utilizes a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques. Performs a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines. Conducts post-procedure review to confirm all required elements are completed and documented. Ensures technical quality is consistent with established department protocols and applicable accreditation standards. Transfers images and data to archival systems and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments. Exhibits skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, and medical terminology. Must work well as part of a team and follow instructions consistently. Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes. Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information. Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Shows initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail. Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, as well as cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies associated with the specialty. Ability to apply core theory and techniques to perform and document study data with general supervision or assistance. Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with an emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty is required. Preferred education includes an Associate's degree or higher. Must meet eligibility requirements for CT Certification (ARRT) and achieve it within 12 months of hire date.
