Description: Under general to limited supervision and direction, this position is able to accept independent clinical and non-clinical duty assignments to deliver specialized cardiovascular and radiologic technology services. The role supports adult and pediatric patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of conditions, defects, and diseases. Maintains the competencies required to perform essential duties and responsibilities of a Level I position. Utilizing professional knowledge and skills, provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to identify and implement necessary actions to achieve clinical outcomes and service expectations. Utilizes a variety of specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures according to established guidelines. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm that all required study elements are completed and that technical quality meets established protocols and applicable standards. Transfers images and data to the appropriate archival systems and prepares studies for reporting. Performs quality control checks and user maintenance according to manufacturer instructions. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies. Provides instruction and mentors less experienced team members. Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned.
