Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Hours per Shift: 6 PM - 6 AM Experience: Previous general radiography experience required License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: ARRT CT Certification Ability to operate CT equipment Description: Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination. Reviews clinical data and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies. Analyzes the anatomical structure of the patient, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan. Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information. Administers intravenous contrast media, including utilizing power injectors. Monitors patients for possible reactions and provides immediate care if necessary. May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure. Ensures that adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies. Performs imaging procedures demonstrating principles of radiation protection. Resolves image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into the system. Completes all study indexing in the Radiology Information System. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with the Radiologist before performing studies. Demonstrates teamwork standards of excellence, including open communication and respect for diversity. Documents in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions. May work in fixed units or in ambulatory mobile units. May be exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized. May be exposed to potentially contagious patients. Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 lbs. Must meet or exceed customer service responsibilities and standards. Must be self-directed, flexible, and willing to learn. Demonstrates customer service values consistently.
