Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Clinical Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 14 weeks Shift: First Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience; one (1) year of mammography diagnostic experience preferred License: Current Clienttion License with the relevant state board Certifications: - BLS - Current American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry in Radiography RT(R) - ARRT (CT) Must-Have: - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - Great interpersonal skills - Attention to detail - Ability to operate all equipment related to the job - Excellent customer service skills - Ability to foster a cooperative work environment Description: Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computer processing, and related techniques. Produces images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services. Maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care. Ensures the successful completion of the exam or procedure. Responsibilities include maintaining a cohesive working relationship with coworkers. Sets a positive example through professional knowledge and conduct. Follows all policies and guidelines of the facility. Plans and executes daily patient flow and staff schedules proactively. Assists with staff selection, training, and competency assessments. Participates in establishing protocols with radiology staff. Trains new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols. Supervises and instructs imaging students during clinical rotations. Produces quality images for radiologist review. Prepares copies of images and records their release in electronic health records. Verifies images are archived properly and notifies appropriate personnel of any issues. Participates in quality assurance and image peer reviews. Completes warm-up and quality control on equipment as required. Orders and restocks supplies and linens. Reports equipment malfunctions and environmental safety concerns. Monitors supply inventory and ensures equipment is properly maintained. Verifies orders, patient details, and history prior to exams. Performs peripheral venipuncture when necessary. Documents all incidents related to patient care in electronic health records. Conducts time-out procedures for invasive examinations. Coordinates with transport and nursing units for patient exams. Continuously monitors patients throughout the exam. Utilizes radiation protection measures for patient and self. Implements ALARA principles during exams. Adjusts exam protocols for pediatric patients as needed. Assists radiologists and authorized providers with exams and procedures as necessary.
