Description
Job Title: CT Technologist
Profession: Diagnostic Imaging
Specialty: CT Technologist
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Every Wednesday and Thursday 7pm to 7am overnight and every other weekend 7am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday
Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum 3 years
License: NH Imaging License required
Certifications: Current ARRT certification required, ARRT CT Registry eligible preferred, BLS Certification required
Must-Have:
CT Scan experience required
Knowledge of CT Scan software preferred
Knowledge of PACS software preferred
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record preferred
Description:
Under the direction of the Radiologist and the CT Supervisor, performs CT procedures in accordance with department protocol at a technical level.
Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Able to perform a variety of technical procedures including interventional cases, CT Angiography, and advanced 3D reconstruction.
These procedures require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation, using the ALARA principle for CT diagnosis.
Responsible for administering IV, oral, and rectal contrast.
Responsible for maintaining equipment and proper supplies, and must maintain a clean and organized work area.
Minimal holidays and backup call required.
Supports and promotes the mission and values of the organization.
Acquires scans according to radiologist and department protocol.
Informs patients of exam and provides instruction to assure patient cooperation.
Assists the radiologist during interventional procedures.
Coordinates daily workload by scheduling inpatients and prioritizing emergency department patients with consideration of the outpatient schedule.
Reviews IV Contrast Questionnaire with patients receiving IV Contrast.
Completes documentation in the electronic medical record.
Reviews exams in the system for completeness prior to submitting to the radiologist.
Responsible for the safety of all patients.
Flexible to assist with the 24/7 coverage of the department.
Arrives on time for all assigned shifts, including on-call, holidays, and weekends.
Arrives ready to work and works until the end of the shift.
Completes mandatory learning, competencies, and continuing education as required.
Follows dress code policy.
Maintains compliance with privacy regulations.
Cleans, stocks supplies, and performs laundry to maintain a professional workspace.
Other duties as consistent with this role.
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform tasks associated with this position.
Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Some stress related to a high level of responsibility for quality care.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled.
