Job Title: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist Profession: CT Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Client Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification Must-Have: Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School; High school graduate Description: The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. This role takes place in a fast-paced environment. The Computed Tomography Technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images. The technologist provides patients with a safe and positive experience. They support teaching and continue learning as technology evolves. In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, technologists perform CT exams on outpatients and inpatients. They work with stable patients and those in intensive care, research patients, and patients requiring specialized CT-guided procedures. The Computed Tomography Technologist practices and enforces radiation safety measures as outlined by state regulations.
