Description

Job Title: CT Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 09:30 - 18:00 Experience: 1 year License: Must have valid state license in hand Certifications: ARRT, ARRT Advanced cert, BLS Must-Have: - IV starts - Phlebotomy - PACS and contrast skills Description: Prepares patients for CT examinations by confirming physician orders. Verifies patient identity and obtains adequate medical histories to ensure the appropriateness of examinations. Facilitates timely, accurate diagnosis of patients. Performs CT examinations/procedures on all patient age groups. Maintains clinical competency as evidenced by completion of an annual competency-based orientation tool. Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, standards, and protocols. Ensures effective departmental operations and quality patient care. Typical day includes cardiac imaging (TAVR, CCTA, cardiac screening), abdomen/pelvis, chest, head imaging. Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of CT services/activities. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by supporting the establishment and maintenance of an effective safety management program. Adheres to radiation safety practices for patients, personnel, and self, including principles of time, distance, and shielding. Effectively interacts with students, providing supervision and instruction. Supports educational programs and cross-training initiatives. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials. Ensures continued availability and non-interruption of services. Reports, records, and files patient and procedural data to accurately document department operations. Facilitates timely and accurate billing for services. Participates in performance improvement activities utilizing the Plan, Do, Check, Act approach. Maintains authority to administer contrast agents and follows established guidelines for contrast selection and administration. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to meet the age-specific needs of patient groups. Performs other duties as assigned.
