Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: MSBI Duration: 9 months Shift: 12AM - 8AM M-F Hours per Shift: 37.50 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience License: Client License (L.R.T) Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification Must-Have: - NYS DOH Radiography license with certification to inject Description: Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning before any patient study. Injects patients with radioactive material as per physician's orders following prescribed protocols. Observes all department documentation policies by completing all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents. Reports equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control and assurance tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verifies receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies the activity level of doses prior to administration. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
