Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: MSBI Duration: 9 months Shift: 4 PM - 12 AM Hours per Shift: 37.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience License: Client License in Radiologic Technology Certifications: ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, AHA BLS Must-Have: - NYS DOH Radiography license with certification to inject Description: Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it is properly calibrated before any patient study is performed. Injects patients with radioactive material as per physician orders following prescribed protocol. Observes all documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents while reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. Maintains and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt according to policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
