Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: CT Duration: 9 months Shift: Overnight Hours per Shift: 8 hours (12 am - 8 am, Monday - Friday) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience License: Client License (L.R.T) Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified) and CT certification Must-Have: - Graduate of a JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology - Certifications in Radiography and CT - BLS certification Description: Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure that it is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed. Injects patients with radioactive material per the physician's order, following the prescribed protocol. Observes all documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt per policy and procedure. Verifies the activity level of the dose prior to administration. This position may also require x-ray work when working overnight from midnight to 8 am. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs prior to, during, and after visits.
