Experience working with trauma patients.
Description:
The department operates 4 GE CT scanners.
Two scanners are designated for inpatient use, one for outpatient use, and one for the emergency department.
The outpatient location is connected to the facility.
There is no requirement to float to other areas; all work will be performed on these 4 scanners.
Common imaging studies performed include CT scans in inpatient, outpatient, and emergent settings.
The average volume is 12-14 outpatient scans a day, with the possibility of 10 procedures per day on one machine used for procedures.
The emergency department may average about 40 scans between all shifts.
The electronic medical record and PACS systems utilized are Epic and McKesson.
A radiology supervisor or lead technologist is always available as a resource, except for overnight or weekend shifts.
In-house radiologists are present during the day, with on-call availability after hours.
Starting IVs is preferred but not required.
Weekend and holiday coverage is required in rotation.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Scrubs are provided, and department-specific orientation is included.
The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
