Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Client Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or limited permit to practice in New York Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Must-Have: Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification Description: The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs technical procedures under the direction of the Medical Director, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist. The Technologist assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced environment. They utilize their modality to create diagnostic images and ensure that patients have a safe and positive experience. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as technology evolves. In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, they perform CT exams on outpatients and inpatients, including those receiving intensive care. They also work with research patients and perform specialized CT scan-guided procedures. The Technologists practice and enforce radiation safety measures as per state regulations. Education requirements include graduation from an approved two-year radiologic technology school and high school graduation.
