How many scanners/rooms does this department have?: 5 (2 rooms by ER, and 3 in clinic side). - Will they have to float/cover any other areas?: Acute Care, urgent care, ER, rare outpatient. - Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties: All range of CT scans for infant through adults, traumas, strokes, etc. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 years of CT experience, experience in a level 2 or higher trauma center. IV strongly preferred. Ok with first time travelers. Ok with duos/pairs. - Average # of scans/studies per day: Avg 90-100 for acute and ambulatory. - What EMR &/or PACS: EMR = Cerner; PACS = Siemens/SECTRA. - Department Specific Equipment: Siemens and Toshiba 300+ slices. - Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)?: No. - Radiologist in-house 24/7?: Organizational coverage from 8a - 10p; Nighthawk from 10p - 8a (remote). - Do they have to start IV's?: Yes. - Shifts & Scheduling: No self scheduling; No block scheduling; could be the only tech in the department depending on shift. Rotations set schedule- could be 12s, 10s, some 7 on 7 off, or weekend only. Nights to be alone sometimes. - Weekend Requirements: Yes - Depending on shift- falling into rotations. - Holiday Requirements: Yes - Depending on shift and rotation, if on that on day. - Call or Standby requirement? Response time?: No. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided?: No assigned color - scrubs are not provided. - Department specific orientation: Up to 1 week in the department: CBTs and computer access, organization checklist, then on the floor, working with someone for the first few days.
