Job Title: Imaging - General Imaging Technologist Profession: Imaging Specialty: General Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2+ years of acute care CT experience License: ARRT (CT) Certifications: WI License, BLS Must-Have: Experience with outpatient, emergency department, and inpatient cases. Experience with strokes and brain CTAs. Comfortable working independently. Canon and Toshiba experience highly preferred. IV starts, CT perfusions, and experience with biopsies/special procedures preferred. Description: This facility is a 60-bed institution. It is a Level IV Trauma Center and Stroke Ready Facility. The unit has 2 CT Scanners, shared back-to-back with a control room. The average number of patients scanned per shift is approximately 20. Common patient types include outpatients, emergency department patients, inpatients, and Level II trauma scans. See primarily toddlers and adults, with rare instances of infants. Common diagnoses may include strokes, brain CTAs, CT perfusions, abdomen, extremities, spine, neck, head, and pulmonary embolisms. Support within the department includes 2 CT Technologists during the day and 1 after 18:30. There is an imaging patient assistant for transports and room turnover until 21:00. A concierge is available at the imaging desk for outpatient needs. The radiology nurse is on site until 16:00. Phlebotomy services are available in the hospital. The house supervisor will support IV needs after hours if required. A lead CT technologist is present during the day shift. Radiologic technologist support is available 24/7. MRI and X-ray services are available 24/7. The EMR system used is EPIC, and PACS is McKesson. Unit-specific equipment includes Canon Scanners (80 slice and 40 slice). There is no floating between units. A weekend rotation and holiday expectations are part of the job. RTO approval goes through the manager. Scrub color is any solid professional color without graphics or logos. The unit culture is described as fun and close-knit.
