Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - CT Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: CT Technologist Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: PM Hours per Shift: 8 Hours Experience: Minimum of one year CT/MRI experience as a radiologic technologist required License: NYS license/registration required Certifications: A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent Must-Have: GE or Toshiba CT experience Description: The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists. The technologist will greet the patient and explain the examination they are about to undergo. They will position the patient and set the proper exposure factors to obtain the required quality radiograph. The technologist will practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to ensure patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure. They will have sufficient knowledge to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively to obtain quality studies. The technologist will report any malfunctions with the equipment to their immediate supervisor. They will also be responsible for processing films and inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing purposes. This position requires the proper use of imaging equipment and adherence to department procedures and protocols as defined in the Policy and Procedure Manual. The technologist will primarily be responsible for providing radiologic examinations based on the needs of referring physicians and radiologists.
