This position requires performing computerized tomographic procedures on patients, ensuring adherence to radiation protection safety standards. Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist- Perform computed tomography scanning procedures with attention to technical detail
- Operate control console and select proper imaging techniques
- Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring optimal performance
- Position patients for scans and ensure their safety and comfort
- Provide explanations of procedures and address patient queries
- Record significant anatomical data and apply radiographic protection principles
- Assist physicians with monitoring and treatment during procedures
- Comply with hospital infection control policies and fire/disaster plans
Requirements of the CT Technologist- High school graduate or GED
- Graduate of an AMA Accredited Radiography Program
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Valid Massachusetts State License in Radiation Control
- Certification from an accredited CT program or ARRT-registered in CT
- 3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist or 1 year current CT experience
- Current BLS certification
