Additional Information: Position Description: GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures and computerized tomography (CT) procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses x-ray and CT technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical conditions for patients throughout the age continuum. - *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. - *Performs all types of CT studies to include diagnostic and interventional procedures; practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and self. - *Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography, fluoroscopy, portables, and c-arms. - *Performs all types of Computerized Tomography procedures within three (3) months of hire. - *Uses sterile technique as required. - *Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors. - *Competently operates all radiology and CT equipment and support systems including PACS. - *Utilizes department computer systems, PACS, etc. to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies. - *Properly cares for and images patients of all ages; maintains patient confidentiality. - *Coordinates exams within the department and with other departmsent to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care. - *Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy. - Maintains proper quality improvement plans as requested. - *Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies leader of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as needed. - Keeps work area properly supplied. - *Meets on call responsibilities and responds within the allotted time limit. - Assists with departmental orientation and student clinical education as directed. - *Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures. - Assists in the future planning of the CT deparment. - Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. - Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. - Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. 1. General job duties/types of procedures required: - Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. - Knowledge of radiologic and CT positioning, use of technical factors and radiation safety procedures. - Knowledge of CT non-invasive and invasive procedures. - Knowledge of ACR, federal and state regulatory requirements. - Skill in operating radiologic and CT equipment,PACS, and other related systems. - Skill in performing venipuncture technique. - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. - Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills. - Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. - Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. - Ability to react appropriately and perform work effectively under stressful and emergeny situations. - Ability to care for diverse patients througout the age continuum. - Abiilty to exercies courtesy and prfoessionalism in the work environment. - Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and patient safety. - Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. 2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.: - Epic 3. Required skills and minimum years of experience: - Applicant needs to be both CT and X-ray - Minimum of 1 year of hospital X-Ray experience - Minimum of 1 year of hospital CT experience - Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required: - ARRT (CT) and (R) - State of NE Rad License - BLS AHA / ARC / Military Training Network 5. Shift or schedule requirements: - See job posting - May need to be available for OR cases. 6. Dress Code: - Solid colored scrubs Comments: 36 hours per week, FT, Day Shift, XRay/ CT Tech Traveler at MMC. On Call: Every fourth weekend (F/S/S) and one weeknight every week. *Cannot start earlier than posted start date* BRYAN HEALTH ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Radius: Client does not accept local candidates and has a 50-mile radius restriction. - Call-Off Policy: Client may call off or cancel up to 48 hours per 13 weeks and may provide a 2-week notice. - Non-Billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours of non-billable orientation. Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation. - Previous Employment: Submission must disclose if clinician has ever worked for Bryan Health. If clinician previously worked with Bryan, they must have an end date 12 months prior to their submission date.
