Description:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Radiology and the immediate supervision of the Lead Technologist, performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.
The CT Technologist can perform all general diagnostic radiographic exams and CT exams.
Assumes responsibility for designated areas as assigned.
The Technologist operates CT equipment, prepares and administers contrast media, performs intravenous contrast injections, operates X-ray equipment, and prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies, and medications.
The CT Technologist is responsible for quality control and enforcement of core values, standards of ethics, and the policies and procedures of the designated area.
The CT Technologist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of the Radiology Department.
Desired:
Two years experience in diagnostic x-ray.
One year experience in CT.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of human structure and function, cross-sectional anatomy, patient care, positioning, and principles of radiographic exposure.
Knowledge of quality assurance, radiation physics, radiation protection, radiobiology, and specialized techniques as required for a radiologic and CT technologist is essential.
Must be intelligent and self-motivated.
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques are required.
