Job Title: CT Technologist II Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: - Duration: - Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 (7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.) Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a CT Technologist preferred. License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible. Certifications: Requires advanced certification in CT. Must-Have: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science. Competence in high-risk invasive diagnostic techniques. Ability to assist with needle biopsies, aspirations, CT-guided joint injections, and CT-guided needle-wire placement exams. Description: Conducts complex procedures and tests using Computed Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Works in collaboration with various teams to obtain necessary imaging for advanced diagnoses to aid in treatment options. Assists the radiologist in performing high-risk invasive techniques. Demonstrates competence by contributing input for alternative approaches and adjustment of scan parameters to limit radiation dosage. Evaluates any contra-indications, such as medications and insufficient patient preparation, notifying care teams and coordinating appropriate care prior to patient arrival. Works with radiologists and other providers to identify patient needs to complete exams or discuss alternative exams. Performs various CT procedures as defined by the physician. Trains CT Tech I team members on high-risk exams and procedures. Recognizes diagnostic characteristics of normal and abnormal scans, alerting radiologist for escalation or additional care. Demonstrates ability to manipulate parameters for cardiac exams, including monitoring devices and computer parameters. Analyzes scan data throughout the examination to ensure a comprehensive exam is completed. Triages care for general anesthesia exams and provides education for care teams. Obtains and manipulates images per protocols and performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Administers oral and rectal contrast to patients according to protocols, establishes intravenous lines, and follows correct procedures for contrast eligibility and lab values prior to administration.
