- Prior education, training, and experience that provide the ability to perform the assigned tasks
Description:
Conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, and obtains patient history.
Assists patients and family members that require extra attention, ensuring patient understanding whenever possible, and ensures patient safety.
Verifies patient identification and documents pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age.
Obtains images per protocol, manipulates images according to protocols, and performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy.
Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.
Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures.
Follows correct procedures to determine contrast eligibility and checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol.
Maintains a thorough understanding of PACS and transmits images for quality control.
Verifies and segments images at the quality control station.
Accesses service tools to verify image transmission and completes, modifies, and cancels orders in a timely manner.
Ensures that charge information is accurate.
Verifies patient identification following policy and ensures that all appropriate demographic information is accurate.
Performs tasks in a timely manner and creates a consistent workflow.
Volunteers to work on challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research.
Produces quality diagnostic images and reviews the patient's chart and reports for correlation.
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
Creates and keeps documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities for employees and the department.
Precepts new employees and students.
