Key Responsibilities- Perform accurate CT and general radiology (x-ray) procedures, including portable examinations, according to protocol for patients of all ages (neonate through geriatric)
- Ensure proper patient positioning, prepare equipment, and monitor patient condition before, during, and after scanning; make appropriate modifications to positioning, slice thickness, and intravenous contrast administration
- Perform contrast injections as ordered by physician; explain procedures, gather pertinent patient history, and review contrast history questionnaire forms with patients
- Perform exam segmentation for PACS archive; accurately enter data into HIS and utilize RIS to capture patient visits, charge information, procedural codes, and resource usage
- Report critical findings to appropriate personnel and assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary
- Adhere to radiation safety measures, infection control policies, and all applicable patient safety standards within CT and x-ray exam and control areas
Required Qualifications- Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a staff Radiologic Technologist
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting
- Active ARRT certification
- Active Virginia (VA) state license — submissions without a VA license will not be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital environment
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
