Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: CT Technologist Duration: Full-time Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: Required Must-Have: - Patient assessment skills - Radiographic technique proficiency - Ability to operate portable imaging equipment - Knowledge of PACS operation - Teaching experience Description: Access the patient's condition prior to administering contrast media or performing radiography procedures. Perform radiographic procedures as prescribed by the physician, determining proper technique through selection of voltage, current, and exposure time. Position the patient for the proper view of the affected area and instruct them on proper physiological requirements for the procedure. Prepare contrast media and administer it to the patient either intravenously or through other body cavities. Ensure that required consent forms are signed prior to the procedure. Document the completion of exams and other pertinent information in patient charts. Discuss procedure results with the departmental supervisor when indicated. Participate in quality assurance monitoring and recording outcomes. Operate portable radiographic equipment for the performance of procedures throughout the facility, including medical/surgical and cardiac care units, as well as recovery and emergency rooms. Work the control desk and perform PACS duties as needed. Ensure accurate PACS operation and transmission of images for interpretation. Teach radiography technology students proper procedures, x-ray physics, equipment operation, anatomy, and the duties and responsibilities of the role. Transport and assist other patients to/from imaging departments.
