Key Responsibilities- Perform CT imaging examinations including head, neck, perfusion, PE studies, runoffs, GI bleeds, aneurysms, and routine chest, abdomen, and pelvis exams under the direction and supervision of a radiologist or physician
- Administer intravenous contrast injections in accordance with facility guidelines, ensuring safety for the patient, public, and self
- Prepare equipment and scanning area for patient procedures; maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of the CT area
- Operate and maintain CT equipment, perform quality control testing, and record maintenance in log books per departmental policy
- Ensure radiation safety compliance in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and educate patients and family members on procedures
- Complete all clerical duties related to patient care documentation and maintain competencies as required by department, state, and federal guidelines
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of CT experience
- Hands-on experience with GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 equipment
- ARRT(R)(CT) certification — active and non-expired
- Current BLS certification
- Active Virginia state licensure for Radiologic Technologist
- Outstanding patient care skills and strong critical thinking abilities
Preferred Experience / Skills- Previous travel assignment experience
- ACLS certification
- Experience assisting in the development of imaging techniques and supporting students, trainees, or residents
