Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience to perform diagnostic CT imaging for a fast-paced radiology department serving inpatient, outpatient, and trauma patients.
Details
- Radiology-CT department performing routine and advanced CT examinations
- Serves inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and trauma patient populations
- Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week assignment length
- Performs contrast-enhanced and non-contrast CT examinations, including CT angiography (CTA)
- Utilizes PACS and radiology information systems for documentation and image review
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience required
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current ARRT (R) certification and registration required
- ARRT (CT) certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with IV contrast administration and recognition of contrast reactions
- Knowledge of radiation safety and dose-reduction practices, including ALARA principles
- Strong communication, critical-thinking, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize exams based on patient acuity
Additional Information
- Perform routine and advanced CT exams according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Verify patient identity, physician orders, clinical history, and allergies prior to exams
- Position patients and select scanning parameters to obtain diagnostic-quality images
- Establish or assess IV access and administer contrast per facility protocol and scope of practice
- Monitor patients for contrast reactions and respond appropriately
- Perform trauma and emergency CT exams efficiently while maintaining image quality and safety
- Recognize imaging artifacts and adjust technique to improve image quality
- Perform post-processing, multiplanar reconstructions, and other advanced imaging techniques as needed
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, nurses, ED staff, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain CT equipment and report equipment or safety concerns as needed
- Preferred experience includes acute-care hospital, ED/trauma, stroke protocols, and advanced 3D post-processing
- Accepts local candidates, though a radius rule may apply that can reduce pay rate for those living within the defined distance
- Recent Ascension employees should confirm eligibility before applying to a new Ascension facility
