Job Description – Level 2 Radiology CT Technologist (Contract)
 

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Level 2 Radiology CT Technologist to join a fast-paced diagnostic imaging team on a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with departmental and regulatory standards. This role requires excellent technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to examinations while ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Operate CT imaging equipment to produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer contrast media in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure appropriate documentation before performing procedures.
  • Evaluate image quality and repeat scans when necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic results.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Participate in on-call, weekend, holiday, and variable shift rotations as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT (R) certification.
  • Advanced ARRT (CT) certification preferred or required per facility guidelines.
  • Current state Radiologic Technologist license (if applicable).
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CT Technologist experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Experience performing a broad range of CT procedures, including contrast-enhanced studies.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation protection, anatomy, and CT imaging protocols.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with trauma, emergency department, and inpatient CT imaging.
  • Proficiency with EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, or other EMR/PACS systems.
  • Experience working in a high-volume imaging department.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new equipment, workflows, and clinical environments.

Required Certifications

  • ARRT (R)
  • ARRT (CT) (preferred/required per facility)
  • Current State Radiology License (if applicable)
  • BLS (AHA)
