**Join Our Dynamic Team as a Cat Scan Technologist!** **Job Description:** - Be a key player in providing exceptional patient care by performing complex CT procedures that produce precise sectional and three-dimensional images. - Utilize your professional judgment to review and obtain patients’ clinical histories for procedures, ensuring all information is accurately documented and scanned into our PACS system. - Prepare, screen, and confirm the accuracy of contrast questionnaires with patients and/or family members, and input them into EPIC. - Identify and/or administer contrast media for CT exams as prescribed by licensed practitioners. - Verify the appropriateness of the patient prescription by reviewing it carefully and communicating with Radiologists and Referring Physicians to gather additional clinical information if needed. - Clarify prescriptions with physicians in accordance with established CT protocols. - Ensure insurance authorization for exam scripts is verified and send necessary forms to Finance for re-verification. - Obtain and schedule outside studies (CD) in EPIC to ensure availability in PACS for Radiologist comparison. - Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians or family members. - Evaluate radiographs using the PACS system to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value. - Gather relevant information consistently from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols that promote patient safety. - Assess and confirm patient preparedness for scanning procedures. - Prep patients for scanning with essential measures (i.e., shielding, immobilization). - Determine the appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered. - Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients at all stages of the procedure, addressing their questions and concerns appropriately. - Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures in adherence to established guidelines. - Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort. - Adhere to all policies regarding employee identification, behavior, attendance, and punctuality. - Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily. - Identify and address the diverse needs of the patient population served, modifying care delivery as necessary (i.e., age, culture, language, etc.). - Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and/or caregivers in a way that meets their developmental and educational needs. - Abide by the standards outlined in the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior. **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
