We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Cardiovascular MedSurg unit. As a professional caregiver, you will assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame, providing exceptional care through the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and available resources within the philosophy of the institution.

Essential Functions:

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
• Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs.
• Implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modify the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
• Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
• Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
• Identify own learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
• Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies.

Department Specific Job Functions:

• Provide direct care of CVMS patients (post op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients).
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Maintain hospital and unit-based competencies.
• Conduct hourly rounding on patients.
• Proactively seek out opportunities to assist internal and external customers.
