CVICU Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Night Shift Contract in Asheville, NC

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Start Date: October 11, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 10, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week with alternating weekends
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1 or 2:1, with occasional 3:1 assignments based on patient acuity
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Uniform: Navy or navy-and-white scrubs

CVICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent ICU or CVICU nursing experience
• Strong experience caring for high-acuity cardiac and critically ill patients
• Proficiency titrating vesicant medications and managing pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, telemetry interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Knowledge of pulmonary artery catheter setup and interpretation
• Experience with transvenous pacing and cardioversion
• Ability to float to other clinical areas as needed
• CCRN certification is recommended
• IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience are highly valued

CVICU Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to cardiovascular and surgical patients
• Continuously assess patients, interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data, and respond to changes in condition
• Safely administer and titrate vasoactive, vesicant, sedative, and paralytic medications
• Manage patients requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and advanced cardiac therapies
• Support the care of patients receiving CRRT, IABP, Impella, hypothermia therapy, and transvenous pacing
• Assist with or provide care related to cardioversion, central line placement, bronchoscopy, EGD, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Cerner and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Promote patient safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care in a fast-paced CVICU environment
