Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Cardiac ICU Night Shift Assignment in Columbus, Ohio

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Hours per Week: 36
- Healthcare Setting: Adult Cardiac ICU
- Patient Population: Approximately 1:1–2 patient ratios, including patients with acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, and post-cardiac intervention needs
- Call: None
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May be required to float to other units within the health system as needed
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical-care nursing experience
- Active compact or Ohio Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Recent Epic documentation experience; Epic experience is required
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Demonstrated proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, and care of critically ill adult patients
- Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one supervisor, manager, director, or other formal leader
- Flu vaccination is required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills
Cardiac ICU Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a high-acuity Cardiac ICU
- Monitor and manage patients receiving mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen, and continuous IV sedation
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions according to clinical protocols and patient response
- Provide care for patients requiring IABP, Impella, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, and other advanced critical-care therapies
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, arterial blood gases, and other critical diagnostic data
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IV therapies, blood products, and insulin protocols
- Support patients before and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, including multisystem organ dysfunction and acute decompensation
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic while promoting patient safety, infection prevention, and evidence-based critical-care practices
