Job Description
As an ICU Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill adults post-cardiac surgery, including CABG and valve procedures. You will manage complex medical conditions and treatments, such as CRRT/CVVHD, hemodynamic monitoring, and supporting patients with devices like IABPs and Impellas.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the CVICU.
- Monitor and maintain hemodynamic stability using advanced monitoring techniques.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform patient assessments.
- Assist with procedures including chest tube insertion and management of ECMO.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Float to other adult ICU or telemetry units as needed based on census.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current Pennsylvania RN license or compact license required at the time of submission.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, specifically with cardiac patients.
- ACLS certification required.
- Proficiency in CRRT/CVVHD, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of postoperative heart surgery patients.
