Job Requirements

• Active Montana RN license
• Recent Critical Care, CVICU, and open heart experience preferred
• Recent experience caring for immediate post-operative open heart patients
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• PALS certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and cardiac monitoring
• Ability to manage advanced equipment, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited nursing program

Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable cardiac patients
• Care for immediate post-operative open heart patients from the first day of assignment
• Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, A-lines, central lines, multiple IV infusions, and ventilatory support
• Assess for changes in condition and respond quickly to potential deterioration
• Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, and the ICU leadership team to deliver high-quality patient care
• Support patients across the continuum of care, including discharge planning
• Assist with precepting and serve as a clinical resource for team members
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care with attention to physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs
