Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CVICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to patients with cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in critical care nursing and experience handling post-operative cardiac patients.
Responsibilities
- Manage post-operative care of fresh heart patients, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR cases.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs and changes in patient conditions.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and techniques.
- Assist with invasive procedures such as chest tube insertions and removal.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to formulate and implement care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding care and recovery processes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active NJ RN License or Compact License.
- 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered with initial training in CVICU.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required.
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in managing arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and ventilator settings.
