Schedule: Alternating 12-hour shifts (6:45am-7:15pm and 6:45pm-7:15am); rotating between day and night shifts based on unit needs; every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday); 1 holiday required per contract

- High-acuity 25-bed CVICU specializing in complex cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplant, advanced heart failure, and cardiogenic shock patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 with advanced bedside procedures including ECMO, VAD management, IABP, Impella, and open chest care
- Epic charting system; 36 hours of unit orientation provided
- Academic medical center Level I Trauma setting with interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
- Comprehensive cardiovascular experience with CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, cardiac catheterization, and post-operative cardiac surgery care
- First-time travelers and local candidates welcome; auto offer available with 48-hour turnaround
Requirements
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
- Active Pennsylvania RN license (single state or Compact) required at time of application
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Pennsylvania fingerprinting and clearances required prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Proficiency in cardiovascular critical care skills including hemodynamic monitoring, PA line/Swan Ganz, ventilator management, CVVHD/CRRT, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with advanced cardiac devices: IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, epicardial pacing wires, and ECMO strongly preferred
- Ability to care for heart transplant, lung transplant, post-cardiac surgery, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients
- Competency in respiratory management including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, fresh tracheostomy, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management
