Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring at least 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Unit typically runs 1:2 patient ratios in a 36-bed unit
• Care for post cardiac surgery patients (directly and not directly from the OR), pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, and Impella-supported patients
• Utilizes Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz and thermodilution PA catheter monitoring
• Requires Epic EMR experience
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), with 36- or 48-hour shift options available
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Floating required to other units or nearby Premier Health campuses (Main, South, or North Campus) at facility discretion

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU staff experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Experience with A-lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and drawing ABGs required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• No previous license disciplinary action allowed

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including those with Impella devices, arterial lines, ventilators, and vasoactive/cardiac drips
• Manage patients with dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and post cardiac surgery needs
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no changes after an offer is made
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; local radius is 50 miles
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying and require facility rehire approval
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
