CVICU Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
• At least 2 years of intensive care unit (ICU) or critical care nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
• Ventilator management experience
• Strong critical-thinking and clinical assessment skills
• Willingness to float according to unit and facility guidelines
• Experience with Meditech charting and order entry is preferred
• Exposure to intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is preferred

CVICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and post-surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data, including Swan-Ganz and arterial line measurements
• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and advanced cardiac support
• Care for patients recovering from CABG procedures, VAD procedures, and cardiac catheterization
• Monitor patients receiving support from devices such as IABP, Impella, and ECMO
• Recognize changes in patient condition and implement timely interventions
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment plans
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment
